Samsung announced Samsung Galaxy Y DUOS and Galaxy Y Pro DUOS

Last week the image of the Galaxy Y Pro DUOS was leaked online and today, Samsung has officially announced the devices. Just like the phones’ names suggest: they will both feature the dual SIM capability. Though the Android devices are designed for young professionals they pack pretty modest specs that don’t stand a chance against high-end devices like the Galaxy Nexus or DROID RAZR. But for folks who just need a phone to help them with their day to day activities and receive email from work, they’ll do just find.

As far as hardware specs are concerned, do not expect to be blown away by either device, nor should you compare them with higher-end devices like the Galaxy S2, Droid RAZR or the Galaxy Nexus, but if you’re just looking to fire off a quick email or do some light browsing, we’re guessing that both these phones should be up for the task.

Galaxy Y DUOS features a 3.14″ QVGA 320×240 display, 384MB of RAM, 512MB of internal storage that can expanded via microSD card and will run on Android’s Gingerbread 2.3.

The Galaxy Y Pro DUOS sacrifices a bit of screen real estate in favor of a physical QWERTY keyboard that is reminiscent of the Blackberry keyboard. For those who prefer physical keys, this could be the phone for you. It features a 2.6″ QVGA display with pretty much the same specs as the Galaxy Y DUOS with the exception of its physical keyboard.

No word on when it will be made available or how much it will cost. But judging by their specs, they might not cost too much. The phones will go on sale in January 2012 in Europe, Russia, Latin America, Asia, Africa and China.
